Ready to attend racing mechanic school? Work in the race car industry with a degree from Ranken, one of the top high performance automotive schools.

Is racing mechanic school right for you?

  • You are a creative thinker and problem-solver who likes doing precise, hands-on work.
  • You have a mechanical mind, and you don’t just love working with cars, you want to maximize horsepower to achieve top speed.
  • In your free time, you can be found at the race track. You know the difference between stock car racing and drag car racing – or if you don’t know, you really, really want to!

Does this sound like you? If so, a racing mechanic school could be the path to a successful and rewarding career.

In Ranken’s High Performance Racing Technology (HPRT) program, our specialized training allows students to design, machine and build all types of high performance engines using a wide variety of aftermarket engine components.

Why choose Ranken for racing mechanic school?

The HPRT program adds the excitement of after-market engine performance enhancement to our core automotive technician training. Our specialized training allows students to design, machine and build all types of high performance engines using a wide variety of aftermarket engine components.

You’ll learn how to tune engines for maximum output and drivability using various data acquisition tools and dynamometers. In order to gain a foundation of mechanical repair, students in the HPRT program will share basic automotive repair curriculum with the Automotive Maintenance Technology program. Upon completion of these courses, students will focus on two areas of emphasis: engines and tuning.

You will learn to improve performance of engines and maintain peak performance of racing engines. You’ll get hands-on experience in maximizing horsepower, achieving the best performance from stock components and controls, and installing and programming these systems using the engine and chassis dynamometers.
